Frequently Asked Questions

What is reflexology?

Reflexology is a gentle, non-invasive
therapy based on the principle that specific points on the feet and hands
correspond to different parts of the body. By applying gentle pressure to these
reflex points, reflexology encourages deep relaxation, improves circulation,
and supports the body’s natural healing processes.

Reflexology may help with a wide range of physical and emotional conditions, including stress, anxiety, fatigue, poor sleep, hormonal imbalance, and digestive issues. It’s suitable for people in good health as well as those managing long-term conditions and can be used safely alongside conventional medical treatment.

Your first session begins with a short consultation to discuss your health, lifestyle, and any areas of concern. You’ll then relax in a comfortable reclining chair or couch while I work on your feet using gentle pressure techniques. Most clients find the treatment deeply calming and restorative, many even drift off to sleep!

After a session, you may feel relaxed, sleepy, or experience a sense of lightness and wellbeing. Occasionally, the body may respond with mild temporary effects such as increased urination, slight tiredness, or heightened emotions, this is simply part of your body’s natural balancing process. It’s best to rest, drink plenty of water, and allow time to enjoy the benefits.

This depends on your individual needs and goals. Some clients come for a one-off relaxation treatment, while others book a course of sessions to support ongoing wellbeing or specific issues. We’ll discuss what’s right for you during your initial consultation.

Reflexology is suitable for most people, but there are some situations where treatment may need to be adapted or postponed (for example, certain medical conditions, infections, or during early pregnancy). I’ll always take a full health history before your first treatment to ensure your session is safe and appropriate for you.
